Super-absorbent Gauze for Combat Wounds Wins UTSA Entrepreneurship Competition

Chiron, a student team that created a new type of gauze that has increased absorbency to prevent external hemorrhaging, won the top prize at The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) $100K Student Technology Venture Competition. The challenge was sponsored by the UTSA Center for Innovation, Technology and Entrepreneurship (CITE).

UTSA Students Pitch Their Innovations for a Shot at $100K in Prizes

On April 25, UTSA students will pitch their exciting new innovations to business leaders for a chance to start their own companies at the annual UTSA Center for Innovation, Technology and Entrepreneurship (CITE) $100K Student Technology Venture Competition. The event is combined with the College of Engineering’s Tech Symposium, which will showcase innovative student projects.

American Statistical Association President Demonstrates How Statistics Can Influence Decision Making

Barry Nussbaum, president of the American Statistical Association (ASA) and former chief statistician at the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), spoke at The University of Texas at San Antonio on April 3. His lecture, “What Did You Tell the President: Using Statistics to Make a Difference,” was well attended by students, faculty and community members.

UTSA Launches First Fully Online Degree Program in Cyber Security

In the fall of 2017, The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) will begin offering its first fully online degree program, which will allow students to earn a B.B.A. in cyber security through the internet.
