UTSA Finance Faculty Member Receives Award for Technical Analysis Research

Julie Dahlquist, senior lecturer in finance at The University of Texas at San Antonio College of Business, has been named the recipient of the Charles H. Dow Award from the Market Technicians Association. The award, which is the most significant recognition in the field of technical analysis, is presented annually for excellence and creativity in technical analysis.

Team Developing Gastric Bypass System Wins UTSA Entrepreneurship Competition

UMDI, a team of four engineering students and three business students who developed a prototype electrolytic gastric leak detector (eGLD) and wrote a business plan to market the technology, triumphed last weekend at the $100,000 Student Technology Venture Competition, presented by the UTSA Center for Innovation and Technology Entrepreneurship (CITE).

UTSA Undergrads Vie for $100,000 at Technology Start-up Competition

Ten University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) teams comprised of business and engineering students will compete for $100,000 in cash and business-related services this Saturday at the $100,000 Student Technology Venture Competition, hosted by UTSA’s Center for Innovation and Technology Entrepreneurship (CITE). Competitors will be scored on the viability of their proprietary new technologies and the business plans they developed to market those technologies.

For the fourth straight year, the UTSA College of Business Briefcase Brigade won first place in the amusements category during the Battle of Flowers parade. The parade through downtown San Antonio is part of the annual Fiesta San Antonio celebration.
