Briefcase Brigade at the parade For the fourth straight year, the UTSA College of Business Briefcase Brigade won first place in the amusements category during the Battle of Flowers parade. The parade through downtown San Antonio is part of the annual Fiesta San Antonio celebration.

The brigade, which was comprised of business faculty, staff, and students performed a “precision” briefcase dance routine to the song “Working Man’s Ph.D.” In support of the UTSA Roadrunners, the college’s entry also featured a large Roadrunner mascot.

“We are excited that we could represent UTSA in this momentous San Antonio parade,” said Dean Lynda de la Viña .”It is historic for us to win for the fourth year in a row, and it was even more important that we could do our part to spread the mission of the College of Business and UTSA.” The routine was led and choreographed by Tory Rodriguez , ‘08.

Student participants were Jerry Arriaga , Chelsi Bierschwale , Wendy Boaglio , Megan Chavez, Maria Galaviz, Michelle Garza, Marlena Gonzales, Miguel Hinojosa, Emily Jones, Patricia Lara, Jason Lorens, Rochelle Mata, Taiba Morou, Rose Ornelas, Jo Orozco, Daniel Perales, Eduardo Rincon, Christina Sikorra, Lauren Snoga, Jesus Valadez, and Jose Velasquez.

Faculty participants were Dean Lynda de la Viña, Dan Hollas, Lisa Montoya, Chino Rao, David Teneyuca and Karen Williams.

Staff participants were Maureen Bird, Hope DeLeon, Wendy Frost, Lisa Gomez, Barbara Jackson, Kim Kyle, Deryl Martin, Elaine Miller, Melisa Perez-Trevino, Kathy Pope, Joey Ramos, Karen Rayzor, Eddie Salinas and Sandy Wenzel.
