UTSA Team Wins Southwest Regionals of CFA Challenge

A team of undergraduates at The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) won the Southwest Regionals of the CFA Institute Research Challenge this spring, beating out 20 teams from leading business schools in Texas and Louisiana. This is the first time that a UTSA team has won this competition.

The UTSA Carlos Alvarez College of Business earned reaccreditation in business and accounting from AACSB International, the longest-serving global business accrediting agency. With only 926 accredited business schools and 189 accredited accounting programs, AACSB accreditation represents the highest standard of achievement for business schools worldwide.

Jakeim Jackson-Bell, ’15 dreamed of the day he’d win an NBA championship—a goal he achieved last summer. But, his path didn’t follow the route he envisioned as a child of becoming an NBA superstar. He received his NBA championship ring while serving as the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Outreach Manager with the Milwaukee Bucks and Fiserv Forum Arena.
