The event provided students with an opportunity to learn about the programs and services offered at UTSA.
“This mentoring event is a great example of how a variety of organizations within the community can collaborate to inspire students who will be the first in their families to attend college,” said Rosa Garza-Girdy, assistant dean of undergraduate studies.
Juniors and seniors from Lanier High School met with mentors from EY and UTSA to discuss the college application process, how to prepare for a college career and the opportunities available to them as college students. Their visit included a presentation by Erica Clark, assistant director of internships, a campus tour and two UTSA business student panels focused on the college experience and the tools needed to succeed as a college freshman.
“We hope to continue our partnership with UTSA going forward, and hope to be back again soon,” said Allison McKee, technology risk staff at EY and program coordinator.
