UTSA Awarded $400,000 DHS Grant to Train Students to Respond to Digital and Biological Threats

The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) has been awarded a two-year, $400,000 grant from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to develop a DHS Scholars program, aimed toward building a future workforce for federal and private organizations addressing biological and digital threats.

Patrick Mulva to Present Frost Distinguished Lecture Oct. 22

Patrick T. Mulva, MBA ’75, retired vice president and controller for Exxon Mobil Corporation, will present the keynote address at the upcoming Frost Distinguished Lecture Series, presented by The University of Texas at San Antonio College of Business. The lecture will begin at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, October 22 in the Richard S. Liu Auditorium (2.01.02) of the Business Building on the UTSA Main Campus. The event is free and open to the public.

For the more than 200 students in faculty member Matthew McCarter’s management classes this past year, their paper clips were transformed into a fully catered dinner by Taco Cabana’s executive chef, sofas, patio furniture, microwaves, flat screen televisions and $4,000 in gift cards, to name just a few.

John Warren Named Associate Dean of Recruiting

John Warren, associate professor of information systems and cyber security, has been named associate dean of recruiting in the UTSA College of Business. In this newly created position, Warren will be engaged in actively recruiting undergraduate and graduate students as well as faculty members.
