Taking a glimpse into the future of data analytics, the University of Texas System is hosting the Texas FreshAir Big Data & Data Analytics Conference March 30-31 at The University of Texas at San Antonio.

conferenceThe two-day conference, which is co-sponsored by UTSA and the UT Health Science Center, will include tracks in business analytics, healthcare and research analytics.

Hamid Beladi, associate dean of research in the UTSA College of Business, is chairing the business analytics track.

“Big Data and cyber security have become an indispensable part of all industries,” said Beladi. “The purpose of this event is to encourage collaboration between academics and industry leaders and to share knowledge about the latest advances in research and technology. The College of Business is playing a major role in this conference and is instrumental in this initiative within the university.”

UTSA College of Business faculty presenters include Suman Basuroy, chair of the Department of Marketing; Nicole Beebe, the Melvin Lachman Distinguished Professor; Richard Gretz, associate professor of marketing; and Max Kilger, director of the college’s Data Analytics Program. They will present on cloud and cyber security, mobile and social media analytics and entertainment and film analytics.

Texas FreshAir is an initiative of the University of Texas System that was designed to bring researchers together with industry champions to form academic/industry partnerships.

Registration is open to the public on a space-available basis. The cost is $150 for external community members and $25 for UT System faculty, employees and members of the military. For more information, visit the Texas FreshAir website.
