Siblings Jill (Litzinger) Grimes , John Litzinger and Linda Litzinger have established the Dr. William D. Litzinger Endowed Memorial Scholarship in memory of their father, William D. Litzinger , the first director of the college’s Division of Management and Marketing.
A native of Patton, Pennsylvania, he served as a business professor and administrator at various universities before joining UTSA in 1974. At UTSA he served as chair from 1974-1988 and continued to teach in the college until his retirement in 1992.
“We have known UTSA since its start-up days in the early 1970s. From these early beginnings, UTSA has always been dedicated to advancing the growth and education of those who are willing to be an active participant in developing themselves,” said his children.
“The Dr. William D. Litzinger Endowed Memorial Scholarship was established to encourage that development. Dad, along with his cohorts, worked tirelessly to make UTSA what it is today. We give to continue the memory of our dad and assist deserving students in their quest to earn an education at UTSA.”
