Nearly 130 students attended the event and networked with companies about internship and employment opportunities.

Longstanding expo participants included ATKG; BKD LLP; E&Y; Fisher, Herbst & Kemble, P.C .; Frost; KPMG; Padgett Stratemann & Co .; and the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts. This year the event attracted a number of new local companies such as Petco, the San Antonio Housing Authority and USAA Real Estate. Additionally, representatives from outside San Antonio included Briggs & Veselka Co.; Calvetti, Ferguson & Wagner; and Melton & Melton LLP.

“It was great to see so many firms represented by alumni,” said Lisa Marie Gomez, associate director of the Center for Student Professional Development. “It’s a testament to the quality of our students and demonstrates the importance of the college’s vast alumni network.”

Accounting student Melvy Joseph commented, “This event allows students to explore the various fields within accounting and learn about opportunities outside of San Antonio.”

“The event gives you a chance to network with employees and get a firsthand perspective about a firm’s purpose and mission, as well as what they can offer,” said Rosaline Chen, vice president of professional development for Beta Alpha Psi.
