The University of Texas at San Antonio College of Business will host a panel presentation on “The State of the Economy Following the Meltdown” at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 14. The presentation, which is free and open to the public, will be held in the Richard S. Liu Auditorium (2.01.02) in the Business Building on UTSA’s Main Campus.
“Our goal is not only to educate our students about the state of the economy during these critical times, but to also provide a service to the greater community in light of the recent economic crisis,” said Dr. Lynda de la Viña , dean of the UTSA College of Business.
The panel will address the current stimulus plan, assess the state of financial markets, and provide a regional and international economic overview.
The discussion will be moderated by Dr. Lynda de la Viña , dean of the College of Business. Panelists include Dr. Julie Dahlquist , senior lecturer in finance; Keith Phillips , senior economist and policy advisor for the San Antonio branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas; Dr. Yiuman Tse , U.S. Global Investors Inc. Fellow in Finance; and Dr. Ken Weiher , chair of the Department of Economics.
