najim Harvey E. Najim , founder and chairman emeritus of Sirius Computer Solutions, will present the keynote address at the Frost Distinguished Lecture Series, presented by the UTSA College of Business.

The lecture begins at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 6 in the Richard S. Liu Auditorium (2.01.02) of the Business Building on the UTSA Main Campus. The event is free and open to the public.

Najim founded Sirius in 1980, and his innovative business vision led Sirius to become a nationally recognized technology provider with 1,700 employees in over 38 locations across the United States and $1.7 billion in revenues. He retired from Sirius in 2015 after 35 years of leading the company.

In December 2006 Najim established the Harvey E. Najim Family Foundation to help children’s charitable organizations in the greater San Antonio area. Serving as president, he has donated $125 million to the foundation since its inception.

He currently serves as a member of the Board of Trustees for Haven for Hope, the United Way and the P16Plus Council. Najim was inducted into the San Antonio Business Hall of Fame in 2009 and into the Texas Business Hall of Fame in 2010.

Prior to founding Sirius, he spent 13 years in various technical, marketing and management capacities for the IBM Corporation. And, he served in the United States Army as a First Lieutenant at Brooke Army Medical Center. He received a bachelor’s in mathematics from the University of Wichita and attended the President’s Class at Wharton as well as the Owner/President Management Class at Harvard University.

The UTSA College of Business Frost Distinguished Lecture Series brings prominent business and community leaders to UTSA to share their knowledge and experiences with students and others in the university and business communities.

The lecture series, which began in 1988, encourages the development of a broader understanding of the business world and the individuals who lead it. Past speakers have included notable business leaders Charles Butt , Red McCombs , Henry Cisneros , Herbert Kelleher , Lanham Napier , David Robinson , Ed Whitacre and Nelson Wolff .
