david whyte Poet and author David Whyte will share his perspectives on the conversational nature of leadership in today’s world during a presentation sponsored by the UTSA College of Business Center for Professional Excellence.

Whyte will present “The Pilgrim’s Way: Setting the Direction for a Future Life” at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 23 in the Recital Hall in the Arts Building on UTSA’s Main Campus.

A dynamic speaker and author of seven books of poetry and three best-selling books of prose, Whyte will provide a poetic look at spirituality in corporate America. His presentation will explore the great questions of human life through the theme of internal resilience.

“David’s work deepens our inquiry into leadership and the conversational nature of life,” said Bob Lengel , associate dean of executive education and director of the Center for Professional Excellence. “His poems are like lenses that provide clarity of vision in the midst of the chaos of our day-to-day lives. They tell us that behind the metrics and numbers that define business performance, there is something more real and fundamental.”

Whyte is a faculty member of Templeton College and Said Business School at Oxford University. His work has been featured in Fast Company and The Harvard Business Review .

Tickets are $35 and $10 for UTSA faculty, staff and students. All proceeds from the event will benefit the college’s Leadership Challenge program. Leadership Challenge provides opportunities for students to develop their leadership potential through experiential learning and inquiry into the physical, social and moral faces of courage.
