bernard_swift Dr. Bernard T. Swift Jr. , founder and CEO of Texas MedClinic, will present the keynote address during The University of Texas at San Antonio College of Business Frost Distinguished Lecture. The lecture begins at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 7 in the Richard S. Liu Auditorium (2.01.02) in the Business Building on the UTSA Main Campus. The event is free and open to the public.

Swift established in 1982 Texas MedClinic, a multi-facility urgent care and occupational medicine clinic system. His operation has grown to include 14 locations in San Antonio, New Braunfels and Austin. Texas MedClinic has 470 employees and contracts with 72 physicians.

He serves on the board of directors of the Bexar County Medical Society and the UTSA Roadrunner Foundation. Dr. Swift chairs the Council on Socioeconomics and the Workers’ Compensation Workgroup for the Texas Medical Association.

A graduate of the College of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery in Iowa, Dr. Swift also has a master’s degree in public health from the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston and is board certified in occupational medicine.

The Frost Distinguished Lecture Series brings prominent business and community leaders to UTSA to share their knowledge and experiences with students and others in the university and business community. The lecture series, which began in 1988, presents a forum for business leaders and academics to share their experiences in business so that students can broaden their understanding of the business world and the individuals who lead it.
