The Center for Research and Education in Information and Infrastructure Security (CERI2S) in The University of Texas at San Antonio College of Business has partnered with Raytheon Company to conduct innovative cyber security research.
“In partnership with Raytheon we look forward to producing innovative new solutions to some extremely challenging real-world cyber security problems,” said Dr. Fred Chang, the AT&T Distinguished Chair in Infrastructure Assurance and Security in the UTSA College of Business and director of CERI2S. “We are excited to have this opportunity to conduct research that we believe will be beneficial in helping to protect the nation’s digital infrastructure.”
The five-year research agreement between Raytheon and the UTSA College of Business will allow CERI2S faculty to work on complex issues in cybersecurity. Current research projects include malware analysis, digital forensic string search and cybersecurity investment decision-making.

Hawkins, vice president of Information Security Solutions at the $25B defense technology company. “As a Center of Academic Excellence in Information Assurance Research, UTSA provides some of our nation’s best cyber talent and innovation. We’re very proud to be partnered with them in this fight.”
CERI2S, which is interdisciplinary in nature, is charged with conducting high-impact research in information assurance and security and fostering student involvement in research activity in the College of Business. CERI²S has also signed a research and development agreement with the 688th Air Force Information Operations Wing at Lackland Air Force Base.
