Saigon Immersion

Saigon Immersion

Saigon Immersion The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) College of Business is launching four new international immersion programs this summer to the Canary Islands, Chile, Finland and Singapore/Vietnam.

These 10-day intensive immersion programs, led by faculty members, include academic presentations, visits to local corporations and cultural experiences. Prior to the immersion experience, students study the history, culture and socioeconomic conditions of each country. Following the experience the students complete a final project.

“In today’s business world we must provide students with “flat knowledge” that transcends traditional academic coursework,” said Dr. Lynda de la Viña , dean of the UTSA College of Business and executive director of the college’s Center for Global Entrepreneurship. “The college’s in-country immersion programs blend international business perspectives and cultural experiences. These programs combined with on-campus international lecturers and specialized coursework forms the basis for our comprehensive international programming.”

In addition to these new programs, the UTSA College of Business has also conducted immersion programs in Brazil, Morocco and Spain. More than 70 students will participate in the immersion programs this summer.

Nationally ranked and recognized, the UTSA College of Business is accredited by AACSB International, The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. It is one of the 40 largest business schools in the nation with 5,600 enrolled students and 37 different graduate and undergraduate business programs. The college is dedicated to raising its academic profile to become one of the best business schools recognized for developing “Knowledge for a New World.”
