The University of Texas at San Antonio College of Business was ranked as one of the top 10 MBA programs providing the “Greatest Opportunity for Minority Students” nationally, according to the 2010 edition of the Princeton Review .
The UTSA College of Business was ranked No. 5 and shared the spotlight with such schools as Howard University, Thunderbird, University of Michigan and University of Miami.
“Nationwide MBA programs average only 10 percent minorities. UTSA is leading the nation with more than 36 percent of our graduate student body being minorities,” said Lynda de la Viña , dean of the College of Business. “In addition, our faculty is diverse as well with half representing minority groups.”
The Princeton Review conducted surveys with 19,000 business students and received institutional data from universities to round out its rankings. Business schools were judged by those offering the greatest opportunity for minority students based on percentage of minority students, percentage of minority faculty and resources for minority students.
Most recently the college was also named the No. 1 graduate business school in the nation for Hispanics last month by Hispanic Business . The UTSA College of Business is accredited by AACSB International, The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. It is one of the 40 largest business schools in the nation with 5,600 enrolled students and 47 different graduate and undergraduate business programs.
