Vicente Fox, the former president of Mexico, will present the keynote address on Friday, March 27 at the Future Leaders Conference sponsored by the Congressional Hispanic Leadership Institute (CHLI) and the UTSA College of Business.
The free, day-long student conference will feature prominent speakers from government, education, business and non-profits to address the event’s theme, “The Emerging Role of Future Hispanic Leaders in U.S.-Mexico Relations.”
“The CHLI Future Leaders Conference was established in 2007 to bring together university student leaders and young professionals to discuss issues of importance to the U.S. Hispanic community and to network with local, national and international leaders in the public, private and non-profit sectors,” said Octavio A. Hinojosa Mier, executive director of CHLI.
The program begins at 9 a.m. with an opening address by Texas Secretary of State Hope Andrade. Panel discussions on economic development and public policy will immediately follow. The event will conclude at 12:30 p.m. with the luncheon presentation by Vicente Fox.
“We are pleased to partner with CHLI to provide this enlightening educational opportunity for our students to hear firsthand from international leaders on the topic of U.S.-Mexico relations,” said Dr. Lynda de la Viña, dean of the UTSA College of Business.
Registration is free and open to all students, faculty, and community leaders. Attire is business casual.
