The College of Business Tourism Management Program is hosting two activities to spotlight the tourism industry and its career opportunities to business students.

A panel discussion on “Careers in Tourism” will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, February 3 in the University Room of the Business Building (2.06.04). The discussion will be led by Cesar Cantor , general manager of the Omni Hotel, and Della Guidry , president of PRA San Antonio.

Both executives will share their expertise in the realms of hotel and event management, discuss the variety of management positions available in the tourism industry, and share how students can begin careers in this field.

On Thursday, February 5, students can learn about career opportunities during the Tourism Industry Job Fair which will be held from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. in the University Room of the Business Building (2.06.04). Career opportunities are available with local and regional companies.

The College offers a bachelor of business administration degree in marketing with a tourism concentration as well as a graduate level MBA concentration in tourism destination development. The College’s Tourism Management Program is a robust program that provides graduates a solid foundation in core business principles to equip them for tourism management positions worldwide. Students are exposed to the industry through networking programs, professional organizations and internship positions.

Both tourism industry programs are sponsored by the College of Business Tourism Management Program, the College’s Center for Student Professional Development and the University Career Center. For more information, call 458-3111.
