Kathleen Quiroz, health care practice group leader and shareholder at Oppenheimer, Blend, Harrison, and Tate, Inc., will present the keynote address during The University of Texas at San Antonio College of Business Frost Distinguished Lecture. The lecture begins at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 2 in the Richard S. Liu Auditorium (2.01.02) in the Business Building on the UTSA Main Campus. The event is free and open to the public.
Quiroz focuses her practice on the regulatory aspects of health care law including HIPAA, state and federal fraud and abuse, Medicare billing and state and federal regulation of HMOs, PPOs and approved non-profit health care corporations. She is also focused on the business aspects of health care law for physicians, physician groups and hospitals.
A frequent author and lecturer on issues related to health care law, Quiroz is active as a member of the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee of ACCION Texas, and she also serves on the Board of Directors of Harper’s Embrace LifeSaver program.
She is a member of the American Bar Association, the American Health Lawyers Association, the State Bar of Texas, the San Antonio Bar Association, the San Antonio Medical Group Management Association and the Bexar County Women’s Bar Association. Quiroz received her law degree from the University of Texas at Austin and her bachelor’s from Yale.
The Frost Distinguished Lecture Series brings prominent business and community leaders to UTSA to share their knowledge and experiences with students and others in the university and business community. The lecture series, which began in 1988, presents a forum for business leaders and academics to share their experiences in business so that students can broaden their understanding of the business world and the individuals who lead it.
