Three College of Business staff members were recognized for their outstanding leadership and service at the College Awards Reception April 29.
Recipients of the Dean’s Excellence Award were Administrative Associates Maureen Bird and Mary Kalicki . Bird, a member of the Dean’s Office is responsible for organizing and planning special events for the college. She is respected by her colleagues, and she works countless nights, weekends and through her lunch hour to ensure that college events run smoothly. Most recently she has organized the college’s Briefcase Brigade by scheduling practices, communicating with participants and decorating the parade entry.
Kalicki is the “floater” for the college and works to assist all college departments and offices. She is always willing to take on any project and utilizes her experience and professionalism to get the job done. This past year she has stepped in as the administrative associate for both the Department of Management and Department of Economics while they were searching for a new employee, leading to a seamless transition.
Peter Morales , assistant director of graduate business career services, was the recipient of the Dean’s Excellence Award for Community Service and Outreach. Morales works diligently to conduct outreach on behalf of the college. He is an active member and past president of the San Antonio Chapter of the National Society of Hispanic MBAs. He also serves as a member of the supervisory committee for the San Antonio Credit Union. His community involvement allows him to advocate for UTSA students and to help them secure internship and employment opportunities.
