april_lawver April Lawver has been named Director of Advising in the College of Business. Lawver has worked in higher education for the past 10 years. Since 2006, she has served as an academic advisor in the college’s Undergraduate Advising Center.
Lawver’s new duties include managing the daily operations of the college’s Undergraduate Advising Center, supervising staff, overseeing budgets and advising students. Undergraduate Advising, one component of the college’s Center for Student Professional Development, comprises 16 advisors and 2 administrative staff located at both the Main and Downtown campuses.

“My goal is to provide a comprehensive set of services for our students,” said Lawver. “I love working with college students, and I plan to do everything I can to help our students succeed.”

Lawver received her master’s degree in instructional technology and her bachelor’s degree in kinesiology from UTSA.

The Center for Student Professional Development (CSPD) in the UTSA College of Business provides academic advising and career preparation programs and services. By combining theory with practice, the center helps students develop a balanced portfolio of academic, career readiness and leadership skills to place them on the path to professional success.
