Global Business Treks are a great way for you to connect with companies in the United States that have global operations.

Global Business Treks

Treks range from one-day to five-day visits and take place locally in San Antonio or regionally in areas like the Silicon Valley and New York City. These hands-on learning experiences will give you the opportunity to immerse yourself in a business topic, network with leading companies, engage with alumni and build your knowledge of global concepts.

Applications open in the fall. All applicants must meet the program requirements.

Step 2: Application Review

Applications will be reviewed after the deadline, and you will receive updates on your application status.

Step 3: Confirm Participation

Once you are accepted into the program, you will receive an email with instructions on how to confirm your participation to the program and complete required documents.

Step 4: Attend a Pre-experience Meeting

You will receive information on the required pre-experience meeting that takes place 2–3 weeks before departure.

Step 5: Returning to UTSA

We hope that you had a great experience! You will receive a required reflection form toward the end of the program and information on how to best include your new experience on your resume.

To participate in an Alvarez College of Business Trek, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Have a minimum of 2.5 GPA for undergraduates and 3.0 GPA for graduates
  • Have attended UTSA for at least one semester (minimum of 12 credit hours for undergraduates or 9 credit hours for graduates)

Cost

The cost of roundtrip flights, accommodations, transportation, program activities and itinerary meals are covered by the Alvarez College of Business. Students are responsible for any personal expenses, personal meals outside of the itinerary and personal expenses related to travel documentation (such as passports or IDs). This program is NOT connected to a summer course so tuition does not apply.
