Bio
Xiaohong (Violet) Xu is an associate professor of management in the Carlos Alvarez College of Business at The University of Texas at San Antonio. She joined the UTSA faculty in 2021 after spending four years as an assistant professor at Old Dominion University. She received her Ph.D. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Texas A&M University.
Her primary research interests include job attitudes, team, leadership and occupational health. She has used a wide variety of research designs to investigate these topics, including primary research designs (e.g., interviews, longitudinal and cross-sectional surveys), and secondary research designs (e.g., meta-analysis), and most of them involve advanced statistical techniques (e.g., mixture modeling, multilevel modeling, latent change score analysis, and social network analysis). Her work has appeared in journals such as Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of Management, and Journal of Organizational Behavior and Human Relations among others. She currently serves on the editorial board of Journal of Business and Psychology, and Stress & Health.
