Assistant Professor, Accounting
Professor Will Anding is an assistant professor at the University of Texas at San Antonio. Will obtained his PhD from Florida State University and joined UT San Antonio in the fall of 2025.
Before obtaining his PhD, Will worked as an auditor with a Big 4 auditor in Memphis, TN and worked on the audits of several public clients. He also has a CPA license (inactive) in the state of Tennessee. He specialized in banking audits and had extensive experience with mergers and acquisitions.
Will’s research focuses on regulations and standards that affect the auditor-client relationship and financial reporting quality. Will was selected as the Financial Accounting Oversight Board 2024 Emerging Scholar for his dissertation work on new accounting standards and their effects on auditors. His dissertation was also selected as the best Ph.D. student paper at the 2025 AAA Audit Mid-Year conference.
At UT San Antonio, Will primarily teaches courses in Auditing. In the classroom, Will emphasizes real-world case studies and simulated auditing field work to ensure the next generation of auditors is prepared to address the most up-to-date challenges faced in the workplace.
