What are the current building hours?

The Business Building is open from 6:30 a.m. to midnight Monday through Saturday. The building is only open to authorized users on Sunday.

What hours are campus food services open?

UTSA offers many options whether you are looking for a meal or a place to grab coffee and study. For complete information and hours, visit Dining Services.

Where can I find a map of UTSA Campus?

UTSA has five main locations: Main Campus, Downtown Campus, Southwest Campus, Hemisfair Campus and Park West Campus. Visit map.utsa.edu for maps of each location.

Where can I get information about ID cards, parking, etc.?

Current students, staff and faculty can get their UTSA card either in-person or online. Visit the Campus Services website for more information.

What professional development services do you offer for Graduate Business Students?

Visit the Alvarez Student Success Center to learn about the programs and resources available to help you advance your professionalism, knowledge and leadership, and equip you with the skills necessary to thrive in obtaining an internship or securing employment in your chosen field.

Is there a place for graduate students to socialize or study?

Yes, Business Building Room 3.04.09 is the college’s Graduate Business Student Commons, which graduate students can access with their student identification card.

Do you offer assistantship positions?

Teaching and Graduate Research Assistantships are offered on a competitive basis.

Are scholarships available?

Numerous scholarship opportunities exist in the Carlos Alvarez College of Business. The college annually awards over 175 scholarships totaling more than $200,000 each year to undergraduate and graduate students.

Where can I buy books?

The campus bookstore is located on the first floor of the Student Union on Main Campus. Online purchases through the Bookstore website have the option to pick up in-store or to have the order shipped.

Where can I find a tutor?

Tutoring is available for select business courses through the college's Student Success Center. The tutoring area for business students is on the third floor of the Business Building in BB 3.02.06.

Additional tutoring options are also available through the Tomás Rivera Center: utsa.edu/trcss/tutoring

What events do you have coming up this semester?

The Alvarez College of Business has over 15 student organizations affiliated with a variety of business majors and interests.

What technology requirements are there for business students?

Every Carlos Alvarez College of Business class requires computer access for course-related activities. For more information visit the college’s Technology Requirements webpage.

How do I use Canvas?

Visit the Provost's website for guides about how to log into Canvas, find your courses and maximize features in the platform.

How can I prepare for online learning?

View the Student Guide to Online Learning (login required). This course will help you get set up with the latest digital tools and provide tips from other Roadrunners.

Where can I print?

You can print out your documents in the Business Building Computer Lab. While you are there, ask about PrintSpot services. This allows you to send your printouts to printers located around campus. It’s a cool feature so you don’t always have to go to a computer lab to print something.
