Bio

Dr. Philip is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Accounting at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA). She earned her Ph.D. in Accounting from UTSA in 2023.

Her research focuses on examining the influence of performance-based executive and board compensation on firm performance, financial reporting quality, and capital markets. In particular, she explores the use of GAAP and non-GAAP measures, key performance indicators (KPIs), and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) metrics in executive compensation designs. Prior to pursuing her doctoral studies, Dr. Philip has over six years of professional experience in accounting and finance, including her role as an Associate Trading Risk Analyst at Valero Energy Corporation (a fortune 100 company) and as an Operations Officer at a local financial management firm in San Antonio, Texas.
