Professor of Practice, Management
Ranjit Nair is a professor of practice in the Department of Management at UT San Antonio’s Carlos Alvarez College of Business. He brings experience as a business strategist, human resources executive, consultant, entrepreneur and educator to his teaching in management strategy, business consulting, human resource management, international management, business ethics, leadership and organizational culture.
Before joining UT San Antonio, Nair was a tenure-track associate professor of management and chair of the Department of Leadership and Management at Caldwell University. He also taught at Baruch College of the City University of New York. He began his academic career at St. Edward’s University, where he chaired the MBA program.
Prior to entering academia, he held senior leadership roles at GlobalFoundries, where he served as chief human resources officer, head of global talent at Micron Technology, senior vice president of global compensation at Bank of America and vice president of total rewards at Becton Dickinson. He began his career in management consulting with Arthur Andersen and PricewaterhouseCoopers. Throughout his career, he has focused on leading and managing business strategy, developing leaders, strengthening teams and connecting people strategies to business goals.
Nair brings that experience into the classroom through contemporary business challenges and experiential learning. He leads a business consulting practicum in which student teams work with organizations on real challenges. He is the author of the award-winning Potluck Culture: Five Strategies to Engage the Modern Workplace and Growing the Human: The Inner Work That Makes Everything Else Possible.
