Associate Professor, Management
Dr. Poonam Khanna is an associate professor of management. She joined the Department of Management at The University of Texas at San Antonio in 2014. She has previously held faculty appointments at Arizona State University and the University of Texas at Arlington. She received her Ph.D. in management, with a concentration in strategic management, from the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin.
Dr. Khanna has taught strategy and entrepreneurship at the graduate and undergraduate levels. Her research interests include CEOs and boards of directors, social networks, inter-organizational alliances, entrepreneurship and venture capital.
Dr. Khanna’s research has been published in Administrative Science Quarterly, Academy of Management Journal, Strategic Management Journal and Journal of Management.
Prior to joining the University of Texas at Austin, Dr. Khanna spent nearly 10 years with a management consulting firm in India. Her clients included multi-national corporations such as Whirlpool and SmithKline Beecham; non-profit organizations such as the World Bank and the Ford Foundation; as well as Indian government agencies and business houses.
