Associate Professor of Practice, Accounting
Professor Granado serves as an Associate Professor of Practice in the Department of Accounting at the University of Texas at San Antonio. He holds a B.B.A. in Accounting from The University of Texas at Austin and a J.D. from The George Washington University Law School. He is also a licensed CPA.
Prior to joining UTSA, he served in a leadership capacity at the Internal Revenue Service where he was involved with drafting various forms of guidance used by the examination division and external practitioners. He also led a team of subject matter experts responsible for providing technical tax advice and training to examiners in the LB&I division. Prior to the IRS, Professor Granado was a Tax Managing Director with KPMG where he advised multinational companies on a broad array of international tax compliance and planning matters.
He has taught an array of courses, including Introduction to Taxation and Business Law, as well as Advanced Taxation, International Taxation, Tax Research Methods, and Taxation of Flow-through Entities at the graduate level.
He has previously taught various taxation and business law courses at the University of Virginia and Azusa Pacific University.
