Join us for the Alvarez Case Challenge: The People Factor, a fast-paced competition where undergraduate business students team up to solve a human-resources–focused business case using critical thinking, creativity, and strategy.
This is your chance to show off your skills in analytics, management, communication, and problem-solving and compete for a spot in the TX SHRM State Student Case Competition in Spring 2026.
Who Can Participate?
- Open to all undergraduate students in the Carlos Alvarez College of Business
- Form a team of 3–5, or sign up solo and we’ll match you with a team
- All majors welcome—Marketing, HR, Analytics, Management, and more. Every business skill set adds value!
How the Competition Works
- 6 teams will be selected to compete (first-come, first-served)
- Teams will analyze a complex, HR-focused business case
- Each team will give a 10-minute presentation to a panel of industry judges
- When not presenting, teams will attend exclusive career talks and panels with business professionals
