Digital Humans and Digital Twins
Digital humans are highly realistic looking AI agents with a face and a voice. A digital twin is a digital human copy of a specific person, usually a celebrity or an employee known to customers. This talk will explain four important use cases for digital humans and summarize what current research shows about them. It will identify some issues that are likely to be overcome as technology improves, as well as several challenges that are an inherent part of designing and deploying digital humans.
Biography
Alan R. Dennis is a Distinguished Professor of Information Systems in the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University. His research focuses on AI agents, fake news and team collaboration. A 2020 analysis listed him as one of the top 1% most influential researchers in the world, across all scientific disciplines. Dennis is a Past President of the Association for Information Systems. He was named a Fellow of the AIS in 2012 and received the LEO Award in 2021.
