Real estate finance and development is designed for students interested in managing businesses associated with commercial real estate and the planning, financing, developing and construction of building projects.
Graduates will be able to explore career opportunities in areas such as financial analysis, market analysis, mortgage banking, real estate development and real estate investment.
Real estate is the largest component of wealth and has been estimated to represent approximately one-half of the world’s wealth. Real estate generates over 28% of the U.S. GDP and creates jobs for nearly nine million Americans.
The real estate development, home building and construction industry employs more than 131,000 individuals in San Antonio. It has an economic impact of $19.4 billion each year, second only to the health care industry as an economic generator. Statewide, over 784,000 individuals are employed in the industry.
