Lorenzo Gomez, chairman of The 80/20 Foundation and Geekdom, will present the keynote address at the Frost Distinguished Lecture Series, presented by the UTSA College of Business.
The lecture begins at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 15 in the Richard S. Liu Auditorium (2.01.02) of the Business Building on the UTSA Main Campus. The event is free and open to the public.
Gomez is an expert in ecosystem development. He leads Geekdom, which provides an inspiring environment for bright minds to explore ideas in entrepreneurship and technology and connect to a community of like-minded people.
He also serves as head of The 80/20 Foundation, which he helped establish on behalf of entrepreneur Graham Weston.
Most recently Gomez is the author of “The Cilantro Diaries: Business Lessons from the Most Unlikely Places,” a No. 1 rated career development book.
His professional experience stems from Rackspace, the largest managed cloud provider. He’s a co-founder of Tech Bloc, and he serves as board member, advisory board member and mentor for a variety of local and national tech and entrepreneurial organizations.
The UTSA College of Business Frost Distinguished Lecture Series brings prominent business and community leaders to UTSA to share their knowledge and experiences with students and others in the university and business communities.
The lecture series, which began in 1988, encourages the development of a broader understanding of the business world and the individuals who lead it. Past speakers have included notable business leaders Charles Butt, Red McCombs, Henry Cisneros, Herbert Kelleher, Lanham Napier, David Robinson, Ed Whitacre and Nelson Wolff.
