Investment Banker to Present Frost Distinguished Lecture April 7
(San Antonio)—Robert Estrada, chairman of the board of Estrada Hinojosa & Company, Inc., will present the keynote address during The University of Texas at San Antonio College of Business Frost Distinguished Lecture Series. The lecture begins at 11 a.m. Monday, April 7 in the Richard S. Liu Auditorium in the Business Building on the UTSA 1604 Campus.  The event is sponsored by the College of Business and is free and open to the public.
An attorney at law, Estrada co-founded his investment banking company, Estrada & Hinojosa, in 1992. Since its inception, the firm has been involved in municipal bond underwritings totaling more than $70 billion and has provided financial advisory services on financings totaling more than $30 billion.  In addition to its headquarters in Dallas, the firm has offices in Houston, Miami, San Antonio and San Diego.
An active member of the Texas Bar Association, Estrada is also a registered principal with the Municipal Securities Rulemaking Board and holds various other securities licenses. Estrada was appointed by Gov. Rick Perry to the Board of Regents of the University of Texas System where he served from November 2001 until February 2008. Â As a regent, he was chairman of the Audit, Compliance and Management Review Committee and served on the Facilities Planning and Construction Committee, the Academic Affairs Committee, and the Student, Faculty, and Staff Campus Life Committee.
Estrada currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas. He is on the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors of the Greater Dallas Chamber of Commerce and is also active in the Dallas Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
In 1989 and again in 2005, Hispanic Business magazine named Estrada among the 100 most influential Hispanics in America. In addition to his business and legal credentials, Estrada also has extensive experience in government service. He has served in the White House as a special assistant to former President George H. W. Bush and as a former state director for the late United States Sen. John Tower. Estrada received his Bachelor of Science degree and his Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from the University of Texas at Austin.
The Frost Distinguished Lecture Series brings prominent business and community leaders to UTSA to share their knowledge and experiences with students and others in the university and business community. The lecture series, which began in 1988, presents a forum for business leaders and academics to share their experiences in business so that students can broaden their understanding of the business world and the individuals who lead it.
