A graduate of UTSA’s Executive MBA Class of 2018, Chakira Gavazzi’s practice has focused primarily on business law related matters, including Corporate Finance, Corporate Governance and Securities. Currently serving as Senior Attorney, Enterprise Governance at USAA, Gavazzi has been in-house legal counsel for over five years, advising c-suite executives and business leaders on a wide-range of corporate legal matters.
In prior roles, Gavazzi was Corporate Counsel at the former Andeavor Corporation (now Marathon Petroleum); she worked in the International Capital Markets group of the London office of Latham & Watkins, and clerked on the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit for the Honorable Judge Eric L. Clay.
In addition to her Executive MBA, Gavazzi obtained her law degree from Northwestern University in Chicago. She also holds a Master of Science in Gender Studies from the London School of Economics and Political Science, and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and English from Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas. Gavazzi is licensed in Maryland and Texas. She is also admitted to practice as a licensed solicitor in England and Wales.
