Project Management 101

These workshops introduce valuable project management concepts and techniques to prepare you for future opportunities in project work. Learn how to contribute to successful project delivery and examine practical concepts and best practices through exercises designed to be relevant to a project delivery environment.

The introductory course begins with an overview of project management, industry standards and project life cycles.  The class then shifts to project planning, where you will be introduced to the phases of project management based on the Project Management Institute’s Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK). The course concludes with an emphasis on providing meaningful status reports and documenting lessons learned for the benefit of future projects.

If you are applying to take the CAPM certification exam, this course satisfies the CAPM prerequisite of 23 hours of project management education.

Sessions are led by Aaron DeWispelare, Ph.D., P.E., PMP, ACP, a top facilitator with extensive experience in both the public and private sector.

Communication for Leaders

As your responsibilities grow within an organization, your communication skills become even more critical to your continued and future success. Introduction to Data Analytics

The Introduction to Data Analytics workshop focuses on improving your understanding, appreciation and utilization of data analytics, as well as understanding its impact on work-related decisions.

This course will help you to become data aware – to expand your knowledge and understanding of the properties of data, the strategies along with the common pitfalls in looking at data analytically, and the opportunities that can arise when considering data in new and novel ways. The primary objective of this workshop is to demonstrate how to better utilize the data you handle to make more informed and data driven decisions. Project Management Certificate Preparation

This workshop will prepare you for both the Project Management Institute’s (PMI) Project Management Professional (PMP) certification examination, and the Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) certification examination. Building on the Project Management 101 course, this intensive exam preparation workshop uses the framework outlined by the PMI Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK). Certified instructors will share testtaking tips and strategies, as well as review materials to assist with passing the PMP/CAPM exam.
