Dr. Consuelo Ramirez Named Assistant Dean for Undergraduate Studies
Consuelo Ramirez, senior lecturer in the Department of Management, has agreed to serve as assistant dean of undergraduate studies in the College of Business. She will be responsible for undergraduate academic affairs in the college. She began her appointment Jan. 10 in the Dean’s Office.
“We are delighted that Dr. Ramirez has joined the College of Business team as assistant dean for undergraduate studies,” said Interim Dean Lynda de la Viña. “She is a well respected colleague and faculty member in the college and is known for her mentoring and support of undergraduate students.”
Ramirez began her teaching career at UTSA in the Fall of 2001. In addition to her teaching duties, Ramirez serves as the advisor to the Students in Free Enterprise organization. Ramirez was named a Sam M. Walton Free Enterprise Fellow at the 2004 SIFE regional competition in recognition of her leadership and support of the program, and the college chapter was named Rookie of the Year.
Prior to her employment at UTSA, she worked for 15 years at USAA as a consultant, advisor and instructor in leadership and organization development. She holds a bachelor’s degree in education from Texas Woman’s University, a master’s in education from Texas Tech and a doctorate in leadership studies from Our Lady of the Lake University.
