College Graduates First Doctoral Class
UTSA’s College of Business graduated its first class of doctoral students during commencement exercises May 11. Four doctoral students completed their degrees this spring. They were Paramita Bandyopadhyay, Brian Daugherty, James Hackard and Wayne Tervo. They received their degrees in accounting and finance and each have accepted faculty positions at leading institutions.
Also participating in commencement exercises were Craig Armstrong, organization and management studies, and Juan Sanchez, accounting. They will complete their degrees this summer.
The college’s first doctoral graduate, Ju Xiang, completed his degree in December in finance.
The college has offered a Ph.D. in Business Administration since 2002, with concentrations in accounting, finance, information technology and organization and management studies. Beginning this fall a new Ph.D. in Applied Statistics has been added.
