Business Auditorium to be Dedicated in Honor of Benefactor Richard Liu
Philanthropist and international businessman Richard S. Liu will be honored by President Ricardo Romo at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 5 during official dedication ceremonies renaming the Business Auditorium to the Richard S. Liu Auditorium.
Liu established the Liu’s Family Foundation U.S. – China Business Education Initiative in 1998, and he has since contributed $3 million to the program in the College of Business. The initiative provides student and faculty exchanges, executive education collaborations and joint programs between the UTSA College of Business and five of the top universities in Beijing and Shanghai.
“We at the College of Business are honored to have our most prominent room named after our friend and benefactor Richard Liu,” said Dean Lynda de la Viña. “The Liu’s Family Foundation U.S.-China Education Initiative is our most promising international education program. Our seven-year partnership with Mr. Liu has raised the college’s international profile and has allowed us to become a leader in global business education.”
All faculty, staff and students are invited and encouraged to attend the dedication ceremony.
