Leadership Development
Management is doing things right; leadership is doing the right things.
-Peter F. Drucker
Leadership skills are important for everyone, even people who are do not consider themselves natural leaders. It is the goal of the CSPD to cultivate and develop leadership skills in our business students. We know that successful leadership involves managing relationships and successfully communicating with one’s team. That is why we offer leadership development opportunities within the College of Business to help students strengthen their ability to express their vision, motivate others to achieve results, encourage teamwork and cooperation and lead by example.
Among its many leadership programs, the CSPD invited up-and-coming students to attend leadership conferences in Phoenix, Arizona and San Antonio, Texas. Through the ‘Best in the West’ and Adelante! Leadership Conferences, our students grew tremendously in understanding the real-world of business. They gained essential knowledge and practice in how to network, promote themselves to prospective employers and stand out from other competing students.
It is through experiencing and practicing leadership skills that students truly learn how to become a strong, successful leader. Stop by the CSPD (BB 2.01.08) to learn more about upcoming events and become involved!
