Dr. Thomas F. Cannon
Dr. Cannon is an active partner with the San Antonio tourism community. He has served as a City Council appointed commissioner to the San Antonio Convention & Visitors Commission where he was chairman of its Budget and Finance Committee overseeing a $14.5 million dollar budget including oversight of the Alamodome and Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center.
He was formerly elected vice chairman of the Board of Directors of the 250-plus member San Antonio Area Tourism Council and was a member of the Executive Committee of Destination SA which is the city's first comprehensive strategic plan to grow the tourism industry by an additional $2 billion annually.
Among the diverse research projects that he has served as an investigator are the economic impact on San Antonio of the Dallas Cowboys Training Camp and the Alamo Bowl, the successful date change of the state's popular Texas Folklife Festival and the business projections and economic assessment for the Dolph and Janey Briscoe Western Art Museum. He is frequently sought out and quoted by the media as to his opinion on tourism related issues.

Dr. David Bojanic
Anheuser-Busch Foundation Professorship in Tourism
Dr. Bojanic is the co-author of two books in hospitality and tourism marketing: Hospitality Marketing Management and Hospitality Sales: Selling Smarter. A prolific researcher, his articles continue to be published in top tourism journals such as the Journal of Travel Research, Annals of Tourism Research, Tourism Management, Journal of Hospitality and Tourism Research, and Journal of Travel and Tourism Marketing. He also serves on the editorial review board for three tourism and hospitality academic journals.
His consulting expertise has been sought by such tourism and hospitality organizations as the Greater Springfield Convention and Visitors' Bureau, Smuggler's Notch Resort, Marriott International, Sentosa Leisure Group and the Resort and Commercial Recreation Association.
He earned his Doctorate of Business Administration degree in Marketing from the University of Kentucky and specializes in tourism and hospitality marketing; a Master of Business Administration degree from James Madison University and his Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from Pennsylvania State University.
Dr. Victor Heller
Director of Executive Education
Dr. Victor L. Heller is the Director of Executive Education, Learning Community Advocate (Ethics Officer) and an Associate Professor of Marketing at the University of Texas at San Antonio.
His 36-year career has blended academic and practical experiences. He has taught at Arizona State University, Northern Arizona University and the American Graduate School of International Management (Thunderbird).
Dr. Heller’s practitioner experiences include CEO of a non-profit tourism association, CFO of a not-for-profit organization, registered lobbyist for the tourism industry, director of a state tourism agency, university administrator and an assistant to a mayor, a city manager and a university president.

Gidget Vasquez brings to the Tourism Management Program more than a decade of professional experience in a variety of very demanding business settings. From hospitals, the United States Air Force, United States Postal Service and the Internal Revenue Service, all have benefited from her adherence to detail, love of working with numbers and superior customer service.
