Eight COB Graduate Students Selected for Trilateral Management Program

May 14, 2004

NASSAM 2004 GroupEight graduate business students at the University of Texas at San Antonio will need passports, airline tickets and suitcases to participate in an international management course offered by the College of Business.

Hosted in conjunction with the University of Calgary and the Instituto Tecnologico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey, the North American Summer School of Advanced Management program provides students with an academic and cultural experience in foreign business environments. Beginning May 10, students begin a three-week journey learning firsthand about the North American Free Trade Agreement as they travel from Mexico to San Antonio and finally to Calgary.

The class is designed to train leaders for the future who can function in a global village and work as business professionals and entrepreneurs under the North American Free Trade Agreement. The objective of the program is to expand the cultural, academic and educational horizons of the participants by providing an intensive three-week intercultural experience.

Students will visit leading manufacturers, participate in educational seminars, attend cultural classes, develop international business contacts and develop a business plan in cross-cultural teams.

College of Business graduate students selected to participate in the class include Stacey Chou, Andy Chen, Sylvia Lee, Maria Marroquin, Monica Ramos, Reagan Tielke, Marcus Valerio and Pamela Waltmon.

The NASSAM program began in 1996. It was the first international graduate exchange program offered by the UTSA College of Business.
