Accounting Students Receive Scholarships

Two accounting students from the College of Business were recently awarded scholarship from the Association of Governmental Accountants.
Monica Kozik, a graduate student pursuing a master of science degree in accounting, and Melissa Gonzalez, an undergraduate accounting student, were presented with their scholarships by City Councilman Chip Haass at a luncheon May 18 at the Fort Sam Houston Golf Club.
Also in attendance were Dean Bruce Bublitz and Elaine Sanders, chair of the Department of Accounting.
“We are extremely grateful to the AGA for their support of our students,” said Sanders. “I would especially like to commend UTSA accounting alumnus Pete Gonzales, the outgoing president of AGA, for his tireless efforts to create this new scholarship opportunity for our students.”
