Business NewsMOT Program to Host Students from the Canary Islands this Fall—June 26, 2003
The Management of Technology program will host six graduate students from the Canary Islands this fall. The students will take 18 hours of coursework in the program and receive a certificate. " This exchange was spearheaded by an alumnus in our program from the Canary Islands," said Bill Flannery, coordinator of the MSMOT program. "The island is looking to improve their economic development opportunities in the technology arena and feel our program is a perfect match." Flannery and Jesus Zuniga, director of Inter-American Business Studies, visited the Canary Islands in May to select the students for the program. The students primarily have backgrounds in industrial engineering. " These students will provide a good international mix to our program," said Flannery. "It will add a new dimension to our already burgeoning program." The Management of Technology program offers professionals in scientific, engineering, mathematical or other technology-based disciplines the opportunity to develop and improve managerial and business skills. The program offers two master’s degrees: a M.B.A. concentration in management of technology and a master of science degree in management of technology. For more information, visit their Web site.
