Business NewsGraduate Advising Hosts Orientation Workshop—August 30, 2002
The
college's Office of Graduate Studies and Research sponsored a graduate
orientation session for newly-admitted graduate students. Over 150 students
listened to presentations by Dean Bruce Bublitz; Donde Ashmos, associate
dean for graduate studies and research; John Clark, graduate business
career officer; "Our graduate students are coming from universities all over the country," said Ashmos. "The vast majority of those attending the orientation session received their bachelor's degrees from somewhere other than UTSA. In addition, our graduate students are getting younger." UTSA's incoming graduate students come from diverse backgrounds. Students hail from local, national and international programs. The students learned about pitfalls to avoid in graduate education, time management philosophies, international study abroad opportunities, team learning and graduate placement services.
