Business NewsCollege of Business Hosting Texas Summer Transportation Institute July 9-20—June 12, 2001 The Institute for Studies in Business and the Texas Transportation Institute are hosting the Texas Summer Transportation Institute for high school students July 9-20 at the UTSA Downtown Campus. The purpose of the institute is to create awareness and stimulate interest in the career opportunities available in the transportation industry. During the two-week program, students will explore such topics as highway design, transportation of people and cargo, safety and environmentalism. Field trips will also be taken to the port of Corpus Christi, Transguide operations, military bases and other public and private facilities. UTSA's Institute for Studies in Business was recently named a regional division of the Texas Transportation Institute. Under this agreement, UTSA and TTI will conduct collaborative research and deliver transportation education and training to the San Antonio region.
