Graduate Faculty Members Welcome Prospective Students

July 11, 2001

Dr. Keating on the phone with a prospective business graduate studentStudents come first at UTSA's College of Business. This week the Graduate Advising Office sponsored a faculty phonathon to show new graduate students just how much our faculty care about our students.

Participating faculty called and welcomed new graduate students to UTSA and provided feedback about the various programs and services available here.

"We want to provide a personalized experience for our graduate students," said Donde Ashmos, associate dean for graduate studies and research. "The students we talked to responded favorably to phone calls from the dean and faculty members. When we left messages, we wanted the students to know that our faculty are real people who they can call if they have a question."

Participants included faculty members Bruce Bublitz, Bob Collinge, Glenn Dietrich, Dennis Duchon, Martha Fasci, Cheryl Fulkerson, Victor Heller, Dan Hollas, Jerry Keating, John Merrifield, Chino Rao, Joel Saegert, Dale Truett, Lila Truett, Sandra Welch and Bennie Wilson.

Assistant Director of Graduate Student Services Kathy Pope and Graduate Adviser Greg Hamby provided assistance to the faculty throughout the evening and coordinated the event.
