Business engages in "The Great Conversation"

February 6, 2001

The University of Texas at San Antonio presents "The Great Conversation," Tuesday, Feb. 20th from 6:30-8:15 p.m. at the Institute of Texan Cultures.

Benefiting UTSA's Honors Program, the evening will feature over 50 conversation tables with topics ranging from genetic engineering to the Electoral College, and real jazz to the effects of music on the brain. Distinguished UTSA faculty members and local community leaders will host each table and discussion. For more information on the event go to the UTSA Today Story at:

Four of our own business faculty will lead the following table discussion topics:

  • Does Economic Growth Produce a More Virtuous Society? Ronald Ayers, Economist, Director of the Center for Teaching and Learning
  • Growing the Tourism Industry: How Do We Maintain Balance in San Antonio? Victor Heller, Associate Professor of Tourism Management
  • Nurturing the Next Generation of Leadership in San Antonio Robert Lengel, Associate Professor of Management and Director of the Center for Professional Excellence
  • Is Marketing Too Intrusive in Our Lives? Joel Saegert, Professor of Marketing
