International Program Benefactor Richard Liu
Meets with Students

Hong
Kong businessman Richard Liu met with the third class in the Liu's Family
Foundation U.S.-China Business Education Initiative program this weekend.
He established the program with a $1 million donation in 1998. He owns
Superior Leather Limited, one of the world's leading leather manufacturers.
During his visit, Liu attended a luncheon with the Chinese exchange students,
President Ricardo Romo and Harriett Romo. UTSA supporters Amy and Joe
Salinas, owners of The House of Pizza, hosted the luncheon.
He also toured campus with the students and spoke to an Executive MBA
class. The evening concluded with a going away dinner at the County Line
featuring College of Business Dean Bruce Bublitz and business faculty
members.
The semester-long program offers exchange opportunities in August and
January of each year. The first class began in August 2000.
Current class members are Gu Heng (Grace), Liu Hanxiong (John), Liu Songbo
(Bernie), Wu Bin (Simon), Zhang Haidong (Chris) and Zhu Xiaoying (Vinni).
The fellows represent Fudan University; Jiao Tong University and Tonji
University in Shanghai; and Renmin University and the University of International
Business and Economics in Beijing.
