Tim Goles, recently
signed a letter of intent to accept the Dean's offer for the position
of Assistant Professor of Information Systems (pending the confirmation
of his Ph.D. in MIS from the University of Houston, December 2000).
Goles successfully defended his dissertation proposal, "The Impact
of the Client-Vendor Relationship on IS Outsourcing Success" June,
2000.
He earned his
M.B.A. from the University of Houston in 1999 and his B.B.A. in
Finance from the University of Texas at Austin, 1979. Goles is currently
working as a Teaching and Research Assistant and under Professor
Rudy Hirschheim. A widely known and highly regarded scholar in the
Information Systems, Hirschheim is the Tenneco/Chase International
Chair in the Decision and Information Sciences Department at the
University of Houston.
"Hirschheim
recommends Goles to us highly," commented Professor Walz, who was
a member of the recruiting committee. "In fact, Rudy told me last
year that he considers Tim to be one of the best doctoral students
with whom he has had the pleasure to work. I consider that to be
high praise."
"Goles was genuinely
impressed with UTSA and the path our College is forging," commented
Sandra Welch, Interim Division Director for Accounting and Information
Systems. "Tim was the candidate that best meets our critical needs
in the growing IS area. He will be able to fill a gap in our course
coverage and contribute to our research effort."
